Find answers to recurring questions and myths about Slash.

Can other broadheads be used on the SLASH® INsetBlade® arrow?

Yes, the SLASH® INsetBlade® arrow has a standard industry fitting insert, that can be used with any broadhead.

Can I shoot the SLASH® INsetBlade® arrow without the retention “O” ring?

NO, under no circumstances should you shoot the SLASH® INsetBlade® arrow without the retention “O” ring. Failure to do so may cause property damage, serious injury.

How can I find my draw length?

AMO Draw length standard is a specified distance, or the distance at the archer’s full draw, from the nocking point on the string to the pivot point on the bow grip (or theoretical vertical projection of a tangency line to the pivot point parallel to the string) plus 1 ¾ inch. Draw length from pivot point shall be designed at DLPP and shall be called true draw length. It is of the at most importance that the user have their draw length measured by a competent archery pro shop prior to purchasing these arrows. Proper arrow length fit is critical to the safe operation of these SLASH® INsetBlade® arrows. Never draw the INsetBlade® deployable blades past your bow holding hand or the arrow rest. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, serious injury.

Because this arrow contains the unique INsetBlade® deployable blades, keep the Retention O-ring, SLASH® INsetBlade® deployable blades, and the broadhead in front of the hand holding the bow and the arrow rest. Make sure the Retention O-ring is in place over the INsetBlade® deployable blades. NEVER draw the INsetBlade® deployable blades beyond your arrow rest. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, serious injury.

AMO DRAW LENGTH

AMO Draw length standard is a specified distance, or the distance at the archer’s full draw, from the nocking point on the string to the pivot point on the bow grip (or theoretical vertical projection of a tangency line to the pivot point parallel to the string) plus 1 ¾ inch. Draw length from pivot point shall be designed at DLPP and shall be called true draw length. It is of the at most importance that the user have their draw length measured by a competent archery pro shop prior to purchasing these arrows.

A Beginner’s Estimate, based on the height of the archer:

27" draw - 5'4 - 5'8

28" draw - 5'8 - 5'10

29" draw - 5'10- 6'0        Most Common

30" draw - 6'0- 6'1

31" draw - 6'1 - 6'2.

If not certain, order one inch longer.  This will not affect the flight of the arrow. Every Archer and bow set-up can have a slightly different draw.  It is best to refer to the AMO draw length chart above.  You can also order UNCUT, and cut arrows from rear and fletch.

If you currently shoot an arrow that is 28 or 29 inches and the Broadhead tip is in front of your hand holding the bow, you should order a Slash Arrow with a 28 draw. If your current arrow is 29 inches order a Slash Arrow for a 29 draw. Many times your current arrows have been cut a half inch longer that your draw! So a 28.5 inch arrow is often a 28 draw.

Can I use an arrow that is not specific to my draw length?

No, Always select the proper arrow for your bow. Arrows are intended to be used only with bows with a specific pull weight and draw length. These SLASH® INsetBlade® arrows have been sized to fit specific draw lengths. Do not cut to length or modify these arrows.

Can I buy a single hunting arrow?

No, SLASH® INsetBlade® Arrows are sold in sets.

What is the model number 300?

The spine of the arrow is 0.300.

Are the SLASH® INsetBlade® arrow able to be shot into any surface?

No, SLASH® INsetBlade® arrows are not designed to impact surfaces, like concrete, rocks, plastic, or metal, and shooting the SLASH® INsetBlade® arrow into such surfaces could cause property damage, serious injury, or death. The practice arrows provided in this package are designed for traditional soft targets (not having hard plastic or similar surface) and are similarly not designed to impact other surfaces like concrete, rocks, plastic or metal. Any shooting of the practice arrows into such hard surfaces could cause property damage, serious injury, or death. Use of arrows with a potential to strike a hard surface voids any warranty, expressed or implied.

Can I use the SLASH ® INsetBlade® hunting arrow more than once?

After a first use, it is very important to carefully inspect the shaft/arrow and components, as damage may not be readily apparent. If you are not certain of the structural integrity and proper function of the shaft/arrow and components, the arrow should not be reused. Ensure the retention O-ring is installed on the INsetBlade® Deployable Blades prior to shooting. Never draw the INsetBlade® Deployable Blades past your bow holding hand.

Can I buy the INsetBlade® system (outsert) and put on any arrow?

No, the INsetBlade® system (outsert) is not sold separately.  The Slash Arrow requires a patented design, to have the correct strength, spin, and front of center weight.  Providing maximum penetration.

Do I loose penetration and pass through shots with the Slash Arrow?

Slash Arrows are designed to give you more penetration and pass through shots with the largest wound channel.  Other arrows do not have the proper weight and front of center to increase momentum to get pass through shots.  Slash Arrows have a patented three step process.  First, the broadhead makes a one inch, three blade entry.  Then after penetration, the INsetBlades® open internal to the target.  Traditional mechanical broadheads which open on impact take away the power-momentum- of your shot.  Because the INsetBlades® open internal, Slash Arrows have more penetraton.  The one inch wide three blade first cut, fully opens the wound channel for the second two and one quarter inch wide cut, this makes your shot have more penetration.  This is the largest three blade plus two blade (5 blades) exit wound.

How much more penetration and momentum does a Slash Arrow Provide?

Most hunters loose penetration on impact by using a mechanical broadhead which opens on impact, or a too large of a fixed head, and most arrows do not have the proper size weight front of center and spine for maximum penetration.  Look at most all bows and cross bows today, properly designed Slash Arrows provide 25% to 35% more momentum than most lighter designed arrows.  Slash Arrows also are available in small diameter.

Are Slash Arrows accurate and do they shoot well?

Yes, because the blades are in the arrow shaft during flight, the Slash arrow has proven accuracy.  Additionally, each arrow has the spine properly aligned at the factory for proper tuning.  The arrow additionally comes with a three blade broadhead, which has been tested to fly well with Slash arrows.  Slash arrows also have the poper spine and double core walled thickness, forged into the INsetBlade® outsert for strength, dynamic spine and superior flight.
